Public Works
The City of Kimball's Public Works Department includes the Street Department and the City's Water and Sewer Utilities.
The City's Street Department is responsible for cleaning, repairing and maintaining municipal streets, alleyways, sidewalks, and parking lots. The City's Water Department is responsible for the treatment and distribution of the City’s water; which includes the treatment facility, water mains, fire hydrants and billing of water usage. The City's Water Department also provides water needed for fire protection.
The City's Sewer Department is responsible for receiving and treating wastewater collected from homes and businesses within the City. The City operates a waste water treatment plant and 3 lift stations; after treatment, the water is used for spray irrigation in accordance with National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permits which are issued by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA).
