Minnesota Service Line Project

In December 2021 the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced Lead and Copper Rule Revisions (LCRR) were in effect to reduce the risk of lead in drinking water.  The EPA directed states and system providers to conduct and submit inventories to identify the individual water services within the community and document their material, specifically looking to identify any lead water services or water services which are of unknown materials

City of Kimball has completed and submitted our service line materials inventory to the Minnesota Department of Health. The service line inventory is publicly available, and you can check the materials for your service line by visiting the Lead Inventory Tracking Tool (LITT) at https://maps.umn.edu/LSL/ you may also contact us at (320) 398-2725.  To complete the service line inventory our Public Works team was able to get ahold of each resident and confirm what the water service line material was.

As of 10/8/2024 our inventory contains 0 lead, 17 galvanized requiring replacement, 0 unknown material, and 361 non-lead service lines.
